The EDB was established in 2002 and is a key advisory body to the Government on economic development issues in South Australia. On 18 March 2009, the EDB released its Economic Statement ‘South Australia’s Prospects for Growth’ – a framework for economic development in South Australia.
The Economic Development Board is made up of business and community leaders from a wide range of background in banking and finance, science and biotechnology, research and development, infrastructure investment, training and skills, higher education and primary industries.
One of the major roles of the Board is to lead task forces in strategic areas of highest impact to the State's economic development.
